Re: delay= opcode in sample unit

Hi kinwie, There's no real equivalent to delay in samples unit. But if your room/ambience samples still have a bit of silence before the transient, you can bring them closer to the close mic with the offset opcode which is in samples. This starts the playback at the sample point chosen. ( ex.: at no...

Re: Sforzando wont allow me to use my PC keyboard

Hi, The standalone version of sforzando supports only actual MIDI devices for note input. So a standard PC keyboard won't work. What you can do is use sforzando as a VST plug-in inside FL Studio or any other host that can use PC keyboard input to play instruments. If you do have a MIDI controller an...

Re: Possible to #define a range of values?

Thnka you Eric That sounds as if there may be no easy wasy. Maybe, but I just found the hard way! Bear with me In your SM Drums folder, go to Programs/mappings Duplicate smdrums_sfz_kick.sfz and name it smdrums_sfz_kick2.sfz In the original smdrums_sfz_kick.sfz , replace all the instances of ...

Re: Possible to #define a range of values?

#define defines a name (a string of characters) for a string of characters. Nothing more than that. To have separate notes trigger the same sample, you can just do this: <group> sample=kick.wav <region> key=10 <region> key=20 or whatever you need. The common stuff in the group, the key-specific stu...

Re: setting up USER defined SFZ'z

Hi Eric, I have a question. Most of the time, when my computer first on, the first sforzando launching either the standalone or from my Pro Tools session always take 10 to 20 seconds. I didn't have this problem when my User folder was small. So I suspect it has something to do with the size of User...

Re: Default <group> & Key Switches

If I understand this right, after you release a key switch, you want the default sample group to automatically be selected again. If so, I wonder if there is a way of using "trigger=release" to automatically trigger the default sample group upon release of a group of key switches? trigger...

Re: Default <group> & Key Switches

Hi MusoBob, welcome aboard! The keyswitch logic was developed in compliance with the sfz spec, which works fine for the orchestral libraries its being mostly used for at the moment. In my mind, your suggestion makes sense, but that means creating a new opcode... I know from your video that it wouldn...

Hi, Thanks for sharing!

I tried it, it sounds Pretty good!
That must have been one heck of a tedious task to built this library.

Good work!

Thanks Kinwie!

Although I see this as a more "advanced" technique, it is indeed a real time saver!

Re: Yamaha KX25 controller and Sforzando

Both the kx25 and sforzando comply to MIDI standards regarding Continuous Controllers (MIDI CC). So the kx25 knobs sends messages CC1 for the modwheel, CC7 for Volume, CC10 for pan, CC74 for Cutoff and CC71 for Resonance. You can probably assign different CC param numbers for the knobs as well. Almo...

Re: Key switch to change scala tuning?

Well, using the nanokontrol to change instances of sforzanfo is very "clunky" not a good option. Eric you wrote: " Unless you create sfz files with multiple keyswitched groups, each with their own per-region tuning offsets... but that would defeat the purpose of Scala altogether. &qu...

Re: Change presets programmatically ?

This would be manged with multiple instances within a host, such as Bidule. Each instance with its own preset loaded and selecting which instance is played by changing either MIDI channel, a specific CC or program change.

Re: programmatic text feed

Hi,

Alter/Ego being designed as a musical instrument, it has ways to change lines or even syllables dynamically, but not complete presets. To achieve something similar, one would normally load multiple instances within a DAW and change channels or tracks accordingly.

Re: Key switch to change scala tuning?

Hi Pauly. As you may have noticed, the Scala setting in sforzando is a file loading dialog, which is sadly as far from a dynamic parameter as can be. :( Unless you create sfz files with multiple keyswitched groups, each with their own per-region tuning offsets... but that would defeat the purpose of...
