Re: Aria engine corrupted?

Ah, it finally happened! I updated to Sierra, and to Logic X 10.3.2, and I got the error again when opening a session. There wasn't an app called "AriaReporter.app" where that website indicated it would be (/Library/Application Support/Plogue/Aria/AriaReporter.app) but since I also have ch...

Re: Aria engine corrupted?

Well, of course it hasn't happened again since I've posted ... Next time it does, I'll generate the log & send it along!

Thanks!

Aria engine corrupted?

Hi hi, I'm getting this error basically every time I restart my main studio computer. It's a 2012 quad mac mini running 10.9.5. I'm mostly using Logic X (10.2.2) but some Pro Tools and Reaper as well. If I reinstall sforzando, it goes away - until the next restart. I want to say this started happeni...

Re: Sforzando & Higher Sample rates?

amazing - thank you - that "hint_min_samplerate=352800" does indeed work like a charm. I think I'm blaming the high frequency noise on my Sennheiser mkh8040 microphones. I recorded a similar set of samples with a Sanken co-100k which does not have these problems. But what is exactly going ...

Sforzando & Higher Sample rates?

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue? I make a lot of instruments with higher sample rates (so I can pitch down & retain harmonics) but I'm noticing that Sforzando adds quite a bit of hiss when using samples higher than 48khz? I've made an example here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z...

Re: loop_crossfade opcode?

Ok, thanks for the reply. I'm now not sure that my looping software is making its loops properly anyway. I'm using Audiofile Engineering's Loop Editor - is there anything out there anyone likes better?

Re: multi-outs: hichan, lochan

pretty sure sforzando only has a stereo output, but you could load a bunch of instances of it inside a multi-out instance of bidule, split the channels out & do it that way ...

loop_crossfade opcode?

This is specified in the Cakewalk book, but sforzando doesn't like it? Am I missing something? Is there another way to do this? I've run into some samples with clicks in the sustain loops - they don't click in other programs when I'm auditioning them, but clicks are added in sforzando. Thought this ...

Re: Forward vs. Back slashes in filenames (Rapture Pro)

Thanks for the response - hopefully Cakewalk supports both in an update. I'm not super excited to change all the filepaths in all my instruments to something not technically supported on mac. We'll see ...

Forward vs. Back slashes in filenames (Rapture Pro)

Hi, I'm a fairly early adopter of the new Cakewalk Synth - Rapture Pro, mostly because I knew it could load sfz instruments as oscillators. I'm on a Mac, and after some back and forth with Cakewalk, it seems like Rapture doesn't like reading filenames with forward-slashes in the paths, as is the sta...

Re: Absolute vs. Relative paths

Hi, I actually just discovered that my collaborator's user path was set incorrectly! So, yes - that was the problem. It is indeed working the way I thought it would. Sorry for the false alarm! To clarify, though - Sforzando remembers absolute paths within the user path, yes? So, if I've got a file a...

Absolute vs. Relative paths

Hi, I'm embarking on a film score currently, which I'm co-writing with another composer. We need to be able to pass cues back & forth so we can both work in the same sessions. I've been making a ton of custom sfz instruments which we're running in Sforzando, but it seems that Sforzando remembers...
