Re: Setting initial CC values

OK... as I only use Sforzando as an ARIA Engine wrapper I'm not seeing how the other wrappers get something from this, of course. I can live with it -- it just seems very odd if you're not expecting it. The issue of a global engine is that its hard to find the best generic case. I hear you. Since s...

Re: Setting initial CC values

If two instruments are loaded one after the other in a slot and both have the same label_cc/definition then the value will not be changed, this is made so user settings are kept while changing waveforms in say chipsounds, and other settings in big libraries like GPO. In fact that logic is very compl...

Re: Setting initial CC values

the other thing to look for is that if you have a default aria/ariax file, or use preset, then any value set in there will overwrite the sfz defaults.

Re: Setting initial CC values

A little weird this one. When I load up a mapping, I'd like to have the "default" value of a continuous controller be "known" - and controllable. Currently, they appear to default to zero. For volume and pan, setting of volume_cc<n> and pan_cc<n> gets reflected back into the UI ...

Re: Problems Opening Bidule in Mac OS 10.12.2 Sierra

Hello I can confirm this is the case after updating to 10.12.2 on a local machine here. Wherever we copy the Bidule folder to, macOs still applies the "quarantine" logic instigated in 10.12, even AFTER its been copied by the user. We will need to look at this issue more closely. Please sta...

Re: If I buy Chipsounds now....

I recently bought chipsounds and i was wondering if the future updates of chipsounds will only be bug fixes or will additional content be added in the future Hello Bug fixes only. All new development is focused on the chipsynth line (for which you will have a rebate or surprise of some sort as a ch...

Re: Chipsynth progress?

Not meaning to nag, but I'm already chomping at the bit since you announced Chipsynth :) I think you wrote somewhere that it will come this year. How's it progressing, will it still come in December? Rest assured that I will throw my money at you as soon as you release it. :D Won't make 2016 I'm af...

Re: commodore 64 envelope generator

Hi chipsounds was done for the non-SID-literate in mind. As such, normal synth captions are used on the UI. (in percent) the same UI captions are shared for ALL the chips. However, the exact ADSR timings of the SID are applied under the hood, in 16 quantized steps: For attack: 0.002 0.008 0.016 0.02...

Re: Incorrect timing of envelope?

"biggest players" (Cakewalk, Plogue, linuxsampler developers?) to agree on some interpretations and standardisations? Without getting into too much NDA/political land, I can just say that I've tried to make this happen more times than I can count. In the long term, I really hope 3.0 becom...

Re: Incorrect timing of envelope?

Is there a documentation of the *_decay_shape parameter? I suppose it also exists for other stages of the envelope? _shape maths are implementation dependent I'm afraid. Dimension Pro/Drop Zone docs and SFZ2 books never explained the maths behind the EG curves. So we did our own maths, so that wont...

Re: Incorrect timing of envelope?

The perceived timing difference is due to the exp curve thats used in our EGs by default. If you try this in sforzando, you should get a 1 second pitch dip. <region> sample=*sine pitcheg_decay=1 pitcheg_decay_shape=0.5 pitcheg_depth=2400 pitcheg_sustain=0 Its been a long while since I tried sfz.dll ...

Thanks for the enthusiasm :)
Yeah we are of course aware of both. Not only that but SAM is even part of my documentary on MacinTalk.

Re: If I buy Chipsounds now....

If I purchase Chipsounds now, will I have access to all future upgrades? I've been waiting several months to see a price drop, a sale, anything -- but nothing has come. If I buy in at the full price, I'd like some upgrade protection. What's the policy on this? Hello. The future of chipsounds is by ...

Re: Rerouting Midi CC

Matter of fact yes You need to edit the SFZ file(s) manually and add the following opcode on top. <global> sustain_cc=11 //default is 64.. thats an ARIA SFZ extension though, it is not standard. NOTE if there already is a <global> section. add sustain_cc=11 to it, do not create a new one, else it wi...
