Re: OSC and two Bidules

I also see a stream of data in the Non-processed messages section (unrelated to any action I do), which I'm guessing is from the metering on the MicroBook. Do you think that's what was responsible for the "Limiting imcp response" log messages when I didn't have Bidule’s server enabled? Ye...

Re: crash when removing media files

The MediaPool is supposed to be independent of the layout, files are kept there until removed, if you load a new layout with files not in the MediaPool, they will be loaded and appended to the list of already loaded ones.

Re: OSC and two Bidules

Is there a tool or method that might tell me what's sending to Bidule?

OSC Monitor under the Tools menu.

Re: More Discrete Bidules

So an input selector, for example, would simply allow discrete events (+ values) to pass through the selected input, and block all others. The major difference would be that Pan and Linear Interpolation would make no sense if there's no events occurring at the same time on the relevant ports if the...

Re: OSC and two Bidules

As I said, I enabled the server in Bidule only to stop those log messages. If that's the case, that would mean that there's something in your layout that is sending OSC messages to Bidule itself. Unless it's somehow wrecking havoc with CueMix? So Bidule is the client and CueMix is the server, corre...

Re: OSC and two Bidules

kernel[0]: Limiting icmp unreach response from 324 to 250 packets per second IIRC, you would get this from attempting to send OSC messages to something that is not there/not listening. So my question is, are there any possible conflicts that can arise from having two instances of the Bidule app usi...

Re: More Discrete Bidules

Finally, would there be a problem if all discretes assume an empty port = 0 (like the audio bidules)?

Yes, one of the reasons for having discrete is to get rid of no connections/default output means a steady stream of 0s.

Re: crash when removing media files

Given your other crash with audio file playback, I'm almost convinced you have found a memory smasher (if this is still with the layout using hundreds of audio files). How big would an archive containing everything be? Do you have any place to upload it?

Re: Great Results with Alter/Ego

Only one question so far, seems the velocity of the midi note doesn't really effect the voice volume, is that right? See on the Modulation tab in the Expression section there is a Vel To Vol parameter which is used to control the amount of effect velocity has on volume, it's possible that some of t...

Re: Rewire Max7 questions / problems

It's and undefined error in the ReWire SDK which is weird. What's even weirder is suddenly getting it from processing, seeing at the beginning when trying to open the device would make more sense.

That error seems to be coming from within the ReWire shared library as far as I can tell.

Re: Poly adapter loses parameter links

Yes or Random with a low frequency and interpolation turned off.

There should probably be discrete versions of Random and Noise (triggered).

Re: Built-in Output = System Output

Having output only sounds good to me. (Though see below, I guess).

I was not referring to the device removal/insertion code, but for the way the callbacks from the devices (eg. get audio from input, push audio to output) are done/handled.

Re: Built-in Output = System Output

It would also be awesome if Bidule would update the list of available devices when a new device shows up in the system list. Right now Bidule has to quit/restart. I do have that done but in a newer branch of portaudio than the one Bidule uses. That branch uses a different way to connect with CoreAu...

Re: How to start Bidule without plugins?

If there are not any changes (VST plugin folder change on Windows, files added/updated in the plugin folders) and there are no plugins in your default layout and the layout you are loading then no plugins should be loaded.
