Audio Becomes Glitchy When Bidule Not Front

Postby jeremyz » Tue Jul 18, 2017 2:42 pm

Hi

I'm using Bidule to route audio from Supercollider to some VST plugins and then reorder the channels for some quad stuff. After a while, the audio will become extremely glitchy if I don't bring Bidule to the front. Ideas what could be causing this?

More info:
I'm using Loopback to route the audio from SC to Bidule
audio interface: Apogee Ensemble Thunderbolt
computer: new MacBook Pro 15"

Thanks!

Does Loopback uses an actual device to create the virtual one? I.e. you would need to have SC set up
to output to Loopback using built-in audio and then create an aggregate device using the equivalent
Loopback input + the Apogee to be loaded in Bidule? If there's two different devices involved
attempting to sync there's potential for drifting but that would normally happen with time
whether the application is at the front or not.

I would need to understand how Loopback is actually implemented to give a better answer.
