Bidule Sound Driver mutated!?

Postby NTO » Sat Oct 07, 2017 4:05 pm

I reported an issue back in March where sforzando stand-alone would not work w/my audio card.
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=8055&p=43091#p43091

I was not really concerned because sforzando stand-alone was not my main interest.

Now something truly strange has happened. No idea when or what is the cause.
sforzando stand-alone is working w/my audio card (though w/much latency), but Bidule is not!

Took awhile to further define, but...
Through some unknown change Bidule is sending its output to the digital portion of the sound adapter.
Additional oddity:
I went into control panel and disabled those portions of the sound card, Bidule out still going there...

I used this Bidule setup

and the mixer app UI for the Echo to determine what was happening.

I have .9757 w/o issue from awhile, and no changes w/in Bidule(?). Behavior is same for 32/64 bits apps. Both apps' logs here

Hello

Echo drivers are sadly notoriously incompatible with portaudio, the library we use and they have been for a decade.
Unless complete redesing of that library I'm afraid we have to declare it unsupported.
