n00b question: How can I HOLD a note in chipsounds?

Postby southpark2033 » Tue May 31, 2011 8:45 am

If I want to create a bass line using one of the sounds, for example, I can't seem to get the notes to hold. There's no option for this it seems. They all release as normal no matter how long I hold the key down. I have not experimented with a sustain pedal but that's because I don't have one.

Not sure i follow here.

You want something that will make the note stay up even though you've released it (yes you do need a sustain pedal for that), or you want your basslines compressed?
I also wonder what you mean by "They all release as normal no matter how long I hold the key down" .
Some sounds dont have sustain (rare cases) but most will stay sustained until you let go, then depending on the ADSR settings , it will release shorter or longer.

Sorry to have bothered you it was a hardware problem. I didn't have my midi controller's driver installed and it was sending note information incorrectly. Kind of feel stupid about that :-)
