Speak & Spell

Postby goonzy » Wed May 05, 2010 8:28 am

I was thinking about my 70's / 80's toys... and actually, I came back playing with SAM speech synth on my Atari 800 and thought about implementing Speak & Spell wavetables in different languages into Chipsound?? (and using the wave sequencer to produce phrases..)

Maybe I'm not the only one who could be interested?

I think I have some samples somewhere but probably not HQ... we'd need some circuit benders to dump the wave roms on the original equipments :)

The MESS team has done that though, but those roms are really LPC data and not strict PCM, they need a real emulator to be heard.

The SP0256-al2 would be interesting too. Price is going up, so it'd be nice to have a virtual counterpart to explore.

Again the problem is the included ROM tables which are copyrighted. We are working on something though, cant say.
