1bit Heaven

Postby FredBeeper » Fri Oct 01, 2010 2:53 pm

Thanks so much for developing chipsounds!! I have been waiting for something like this for a long time.

I am not sure how to qualify this, but I have a request for a new chip/approach to be implemented. Have you ever seen the "1bit groove box" ? http://web.media.mit.edu/~nvawter/proje ... index.html

It has killer sounds, but it is limited to a random performance approach. In the FAQ section from that linked page, the designer explains that the box can generate every possible 1bit waveform! Having that capability, in a controllable environment, would be awesome!

Hi

sure, when you use one bit at very high sampling rate you can do lots of cool stuff indeed :)
Sadly im in the middle of designing a bunch of new stuff, so i cant say more for now .

I've heard stories of people who have coaxed different volumes out of 1 bit audio on a spectrum I believe... Sounds like witchcraft to me :P
