Excessive volume levels & clipping with default presets

Postby domtak » Fri Nov 01, 2013 1:51 pm

Hello

I'm having an issue with Chipsounds where the volume levels for most of the presets are clipping severely in Ableton Live 9. I'm running the latest version of Live and of Chipsounds and this happens in both VST and AU plug-in formats. I've made a quick screencast to show this in action. You can view it here: http://quick.as/4aixgj

I'm wondering is this local to my machine (seems unlikely), if not will the presets be updated to fix this problem - going through and doing this manually is something I'd prefer to not have to do. Besides, I'm not sure I can actually save presets back into the default list.

Other than that - great software!

Cheers

Dom

Hi

Appears your send level for internal effect send is at 100%, this level is never changed by the presets (some people always want them off)
and maybe the return level on the effect/ambiance page might be too high?

Hello

Ah ok thanks - so this when lowered will stay low? I'll give that a try.

there are a few caveats(and a remaining bug), but if you turn effect return off and send off, and save, the presets should not turn them back on.
