Restrictions on sfz file size, number of samples, regions etc.

Postby niki » Thu Feb 25, 2016 8:29 pm

Hi!
I would like to know what are sforzando restrictions (if any) on:

* .sfz file size
* number of samples
* number of regions/groups/masters/globals
* total size of samples
* any other restrictions?

I am currently planning big library with 10,000+ samples and they may result in several Gbs and 100,000+ regions :shock:
Would be nice to know if there are any such restrictions to plan in advance.

Thanks!

There is no fixed limit but your RAM size (especially limited in 32bits).
We have not tested the extent possible, but the Garritan/Makemusic CFX Concert Grand is HUGE, and uses the same engine.

Oh thanks!!
I should better do my homework... :roll: I just didn't expect that piano library could be so huge, so I never checked CFX Concert Grand's specifications, which clearly show that I shouldn't worry. Thanks for great engine!!
