Strange sounds while using sforzando

Postby torp105 » Tue Jul 25, 2017 11:27 am

Hello world and sorry if I'm breaking any rules, I'm new to forums in general.

The problem that I am having is that all the plogue products that I have been using make very distorted sounds whenever I try to play something, however the sound is still somewhat identifiable as the preset or sound font that I am trying to use.

Thank you in advance!

Would that be on Windows, using the standalone and not using an ASIO driver?

Yes I am on Windows 10. I am just using the application that I downloaded from the website, so I'm assuming that it is the stand-alone.

This usually means that the default buffer size used for the audio device is too small, there are two possible solutions:

1) For each application go to Tools -> Preferences and select a larger buffer size value something like
1024 or 2048, note that the higher the value the higher the latency (i.e. the time between you
hit a key and hear a sound)

2) install ASIO4ALL which can create a virtual driver with low latency for almost all audio devices
http://www.asio4all.de/

Once it's installed, to make sure it's used, again go to Tools -> Preferences, make sure ASIO is
selected as Audio Device API, normally you can safely use a Buffer Size of 256 (and sometimes
lower).
