ARIA products on XP

Postby davidv » Wed Feb 04, 2015 11:49 am

XP is old and deprecated.

If you still use it you might want to run this:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=41084

So that latest builds of ARIA Engine (including all its products) still run.

ARIA has always worked faultlessly on my XP system with the cardbus version of the brilliant E-MU 1616m.

I tote a laptop running MIDI Maestro, hosting ARIA, to concerts, where we use it instead of an orchestra (too expensive).
My wife is a classically trained, operatic, mezzo soprano.

The audience seems to like it as I "conduct" the scrolling score. ;)

Long live XP, It's been around long enough to be stable, like DR DOS.
And long live ARIA too. A great product if I may say so.

Regards,
John.

Thanks, then your XP was updated until the the very last MS fixes and patches, which is not the case for 2 other reports so far.

Yes, I believe I kept it updated.

Mind you I haven't bought anything new since Gary's Harps.
I don't currently intend to buy the CFX piano.

Is it worth updating to sforzando 1.8?
Will that update modify the ARIA engine too.
Might I expect then a problem with the installation of that?

Kind regards,
John.

sforzando 1.801 updates ARIA to 1.801 yes.

Even though we havent tested all Garritan products with it, this is the version we now support. So if there are any
regressions with older ARIA's then we will address them

Thank you, David.

I suspect that the unfinished testing is the reason why the update hasn't been posted as the latest ARIA engine version, yet?

I must express my appreciation over the ethos with which you and your colleague Seb address users of this forum.
Eric too, did I miss anyone?

Kind regards,
John.
