Release length in Poly mode

Postby c_voltage » Wed Feb 11, 2015 9:24 am

Hi guys. For first thanks for synth ! Really impressed.
Check please - the 100% Release time in Poly mode sound significantly shorter than in Mono. Or that is should be ? (tested on default start preset, with Dee Klatt voice engine).

Hi did you install 1.009 or 1.001?
We changed the downloads only yesterday.

Here !
David, yes, latest 1.009 ofcourse (bought and installed yesterday).
Just try set on started preset Poly mode and make 100% Release (and write just letter "a" for example), it will be pretty short (after the key is released of course).

VST 32bit for just in case

Hi c_voltage,

The releases behave indeed a bit differently in Mono and Poly modes. The release times are roughly the same, but the envelope curve is different.
Poly mode uses an exponential curve while Mono uses a linear one. So Mono seems to hang in a bit longer.
Thanks for your observation. We're pondering here on how to eventually make this more flexible without affecting users' older sessions.

Eric thank for response. Honestly, I would really like much longer release in general (even in mono, i.e. in both modes), something like an endless mode . BTW can make something like optional feature (chekbox or button) which would be turn on a such longer release\infinity mode. Oh or even better - make some parameter in the options that would change envelope resolution by necessary. Such variants will not affect to previously created presets, ie will not cause problems. Let it be as request.

EDIT
But if you feel questionable use of infinity idea, then I would be happy if it will be something about 100 seconds. But seriously, as is now it is very short for a 100% release.

We'll put this on the "Would be nice to have" list, there's a lot more going on under the hood than a simple synth ADSR.
So don't hold your breath, lots of tiny fixes and new features on our plate already.

Promise we won't forget, though!
