NKS support (Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol)

Postby Tristan Young » Thu Oct 29, 2015 1:38 am

NKS support would be a nice addition to ChipSpeech.

I recently updated my Arturia v.collection 4 and Komplete Kontrol to the latest version, and love the integration.

NKS allows me to:
- use the Komplete browser to select third-party instruments alongside N.I.'s own instruments
- use the Komplete keyboard lightguides, pitch and modulator strips
- use the scales, arpeggiator and play controls features
- avoid the hassles of mapping parameters to knobs, and then remembering them after :)

I don't know if N.I. charges developers to support NKS.

There's already a lot on our to-do list at the moment, we have to see first if that's compatible with our internal architecture.

Thanks for the suggestion!

You're welcome, and thank you for developing wonderful products (esp. ChipSpeech).

I wish I could help you in the programming department, but I haven't programmed in many years, very rusty, have a family which makes it difficult to find free time.

If and when you decide to take a look at it, if you would like I could try to get the programmers docs for NKS for you. I understand communicating with Native Instruments can either be successful, or painful.
