I tried some tests.. only the first instance/plugin receives any messages on the same port, osc monitor is quiet (Win7). If that´s no bug I´m going to copy several Bidule .dlls into different VST folders each having an own .ini file as you discribed above. That´s also cool and has some advantages..

The per instance config override is only made to work with the standalone.

I'll check if there's anything that would prevent OSC to work like it should with multiple instances.

Quick test on OS X with the VST and 2 instances, both are able to receive messages.
Both have a mixer named Mixer_0

The first instance mixer is accessible at /Mixer_0 while the second instance is /Mixer_0_1

One thing I haven't said is that if you're mixing VST configs (i.e. using the effect with the instrument
or two different i/o version), the second instance won't be able to open the server port and thus
make it impossible for it to receive messages.

The same OSC Monitor window should show incoming messages for both instances (or any number of instances sharing the same OSC Server)
(unless your host is running each plugin in its own sandbox?)

the monitor shows all messages that should go to the second instance as non-processed, in VST plugin mode as well as standalone. I tried different names for the receiving modules, osc creators and extractors, on Win XP the same.. maybe it´s a Win issue?
btw a module that changes the port of its current instance when triggered would be quite cool..

Just gave it a try on Windows 7 in both 32 and 64-bit with 2 VST 2ins 2outs instances loaded in Bidule standalone
and in both cases I can send messages to the mixers in both instances, I see the results and the messages
in OSC Monitor.

thanks for testing. Right, same test works on my Win 32bit as well (what doesnt work is sending osc to 2 independent standalone instances having the same port). ..found out that it works as well in Samplitude on Win XP, so I have to find out why it doesnt work in 64bit Samplitude..

that would be normal as the second instance is not able to set up listening to the already opened port.

found out that it works as well in Samplitude on Win XP, so I have to find out why it doesnt work in 64bit Samplitude..

Is it possible that Samplitude loads each plugin in a different process? if that's the case that would make it the same as the 2 standalones.

If you're using the 32bit VSTs of Bidule in Samplitude x64, it will load each one in a different VST Bridge process, hence making it like the
dual standalone case. You should use the 64bit VST with Samplitude x64.

support sais that Samplitude opens every instance in a new bridge process :(
would it be difficult to program a module that changes the osc port number of the actual instance when triggered? (maybe this is far off-topic now, should I move to a new one in feature requests?)

i dont understand why you dont adopt the new mutate method into the latest version. you could have a flag to turn it off instead.
