Quadrophonic Bidules

Postby veloopity » Wed Jul 19, 2017 8:02 am

For a gig in September, I want to make a quadrophonic setup. My iConnectivity sound card has four outputs, so it should be possible.

Have people used Bidule for quadrophonic setups? which favorite tools did you use? I imagine that the fun really starts if sounds move around the quadrophonic space, either by themselves, or controlled by some kind of joystick controller.

I would especially love something like Audiomulch's "sspat" Doppler effect that allows you to draw a curve for the movement of a sound, along with velocity control and Doppler effect pitch, volume, and reverb changes. But with four outputs! Does such a plugin exist?

There's a continuous surround panner under mixing --> Surround.

I have also made constant power surround panners via the SDK.:

Either of those can be automated (and adjusted for no center speaker).

Not to mention a lot of surround VSTs...

One example (I haven't used but use others by this author):

"surround pan"
