Mac OS / Bidule stability question

Postby tmpc » Sat Aug 26, 2017 9:57 am

I have been happily using Bidule v0.9737 with Kontakt 5.5.2 for many years on my 2012 MacBook Pro with zero problems. But, due to recent changes, newer sound libraries require Kontakt version 5.6.8. So, I must update . . . a thing that scares the hell out of me.

I am running OS X 10.11.6 on a second 2012 MacBook Pro I use, so as a test I loaded the latest version of Bidule and Kontakt 5.6.8 onto this computer. Happily, I've discovered that things work pretty well. The only problem I've found so far is the strange disappearing plugin window within Bidule that seems, from what I've read, to be a phenomenon of OS X 10.9 and later.

So, in your opinion, which Mac OS (10.10, 10.11, or 10.12) is the most stable with the latest version of Bidule and Kontakt 5.6.8?

Thanks in advance,
