Filtered Noise Generator for Touch OSC

Postby jersmi » Wed Mar 12, 2014 5:01 am

A filtered noise group with a touchOSC layout for ipad using multitouch UI to control filter cutoff/resonance + effects. Lots of possibilities with this. Built so I could drink beer during live performances. ;-)

Meh! Touchosc extension not allowed for upload.

Major update to the group, bidule group UI now makes sense running "standalone" (the group in the first post relied way more on touchOSC layout). Reworked filters and saturation groups.

EDIT: deleted the group because it was very broken! See below.

This version overrides the previous posts -- completely overhauled and updated (for real this time).

The previously posted "fix" had a bunch of broken parameter links, not sure what happened.... (lost in transit somehow -- I was not on my machine -- I was on a 2006 iMac with the newest unregistered version of Bidule).

Includes fixes and refinements across the group and touchOSC layout, as well as a ReadMe. There are a couple harmless glitches still, like the toggles, which still require some repeated on/off’s. This effects the noise toggles, and the play button on the gesture looper. All in all everything should work better now than it did before.

Trigger on startup and updating params

Postby jersmi » Mon Mar 17, 2014 12:19 am

Two part question -- in this layout I am trying to load a set of default parameter settings to touchOSC when the layout loads in Bidule. Is there a more elegant way than the way I'm doing it in this screenshot? For example, instead of all this, why doesn't a trigger set to "trigger at load" work?

Part 2: OSC feedback -- even though I can trigger the OSC Creators to set touchOSC parameters, it does not update the Bidule group back through the Extractors. Is there a way?

(One more thing, the screenshot reminds me -- the newest version of Bidule only shows the three built-in skins in Bidule prefs, and does not allow me to select any except the default. Didn't change anything, skins folder is still there, same as with prior versions.)

Did you try trigger at start of processing?

Yeah, none of the trigger options work for me here. Maybe there's an OSC command?

At any rate, it's the OSC feedback issue that I would really like to solve. How do I load a set of default parameter values on startup that updates touchOSC and in the Bidule group UI?

Oh wait -- I guess I can just use parameter modulators alongside OSC creators to trigger the settings to all the params.

Yes, bug from me. I changed all the code listing files (hence the faster VST scanning) and did not noticed it broke the skin listing.

New version. I had no idea this would go through so many changes. :-/
