Mixer with "Soft Mute"

Postby jersmi » Sat Dec 17, 2016 10:40 pm

Here's the answer to someone's dreams, I'm sure -- an 8 channel mixer set up so that muting (or unmuting) makes a channel fade out (or in)!

Well, I'm stupid. Of course the first version does not work -- the mute overrides the fade out, so only the fade in works (because the channel is not muted when the fade in starts).

Fixed in version 2.
Also redesigned the fade setup to use the Attack Release Envelope. This does a couple things:
1. Allows separate fade out/in times. (Though this version only uses one fade time for both).
2. Minimizes annoying jitter when fade should be finished and you want to move the fader with the mouse. (First version used Smoother for fades. The Smoother algo takes extra time to come to rest. I.e., with the AR envelope, 1 sec = 1 sec, whereas with the Smoother 1 sec = 1 sec + ? ).
